Cross Clash
| Series Race #4 October 10, 2009 Ft. Steilacoom Park Lakewood, WA Washington – Oregon Border Clash MFG Cyclocross is proud to host Cross Clash™ on Saturday October 10th at a venue between Seattle and Portland. Cross Clash will be a weekend of cyclocross racing with Oregon and Washington cyclocross racers, friends, and family. The weekend begins with on Saturday with Cross Clash, a one-of-a-kind cyclocross race which will pit Oregon versus Washington, with ten select categories being scored ten deep, to crown an overall Cross Clash winner. The weekend continues with stop #2 of Oregon’s Cross Crusade cyclocross series at the famed Rainier High School in Rainer, OR. For Saturday’s racing, there will be 24 categories of racing. Ten of those 24 categories will be scored ten places deep in the overall Cross Clash competition. Each race will feature a maximum point potential of 55 points (a clean sweep of places 1st through 10th) with a total possible points of 550 on the day. Call it Red states versus Blue states, or Beards versus Pocket Protectors. Whatever the nickname, there will be a winner, and a definite loser! Grail de la Grunge Scoring Each state’s team will be scored as follows: The following ten categories will be scored: Field must have ten riders to be scored in Grail de la Grunge. Individual results from riders from each state will be scored 10 points for 1st, 9 points for 2nd through 1 point for 10th. The state with the most points will win the coveted Grail. Most victories will break a tie. If still tied the Clash will be called a draw and the Grail stays with current holder. Course Map Driving Directions & Parking Race Day Schedule (proposed)
Fees Registration Day of Race registration will close 20 minutes before start of each category. Signed waiver form is required with registration. USA Cycling racing licenses are not required. Categories Cat 4 = Beginner Masters = Age graded 35 and over. Combine your ability/experience with your age to chose a category i.e. over 45 beginner = Cat 4 Master 45+ Juniors = Age graded 18 and under. Relay Team = Three riders of any category. Must have matching jerseys unique of any other team. Bring out the vintage jerseys. Series |
