What Lazer makes:

Established in 1919, Lazer, with headquarter in Belgium, designs, manufactures and markets its bicycle, motorcycle and leisure helmets in more than 40 countries, over 5 continents.

Why we like Lazer:

We like Lazer Helmets because of their fit, style, and functionality. The Lazer Rollsys retension system adjusts the helmet against your head in a 360-degree circle, making contact all the way around your head.

Five things you should know about Lazer:

1. Lazer continues to push helmet technology with their new Magic Buckle system.

2. The Helium is the top of the line road helmet, with lighter straps and foam as compared to the Genesis.

3. The Genesis is the MFG’s favorite helmet worn by Rich, Terry, and Zac

4. In addition to sponsoring the Pro Tour Katusha team, as well as the local Hagens Berman team, Lazer also sponsors the DH legend Brian Lopes, and worked on the new Oasiz helmet with Lopes.

5. Lazer Helmets are proudly sold at MFG sponsor Cascade Bicycle Studio. Please check with CBS for pricing.

So MFG Cyclocross for 2011 comes to end this Sunday at Woodland Park. Exciting and bummer all in one. Here are few details to be aware of for Sunday.

Parking – There is plenty of parking in all the different lots in the park if you use them. Racers coming for the mid-day start times should be looking to park in the lots along Greenlake Way N and the lot at the North of the park off of HWY 99. See map. All the lots are pretty easy access to the course.

Registration – Get there early. This is going to be a busy day. Please know that registration closes 25 minutes before each Categories’ race. Preregistered riders must check in.

Team Tents – Please see the course map for location of team tents. It is very important to place your tent in this area or risk a $100 fee from Seattle Parks for promotional signage in the park. There will not be access for trailers in the Team Tent Area. We can park trailers in the Team Parking area up until 8:00 am and they will have to remain there all day.

The Course – It will be very similar to the last two years. We have a new line over the road near Registration to eliminate the bottle neck to registration we have had in the past. The double barrier may find a new home this year. The Start will be in the upper meadow from a start shut that is separate from the course.

Community – Redeeming Soles will be in the Expo Area collecting shoes for their fall Shoe Harvest. Full details here. Please donate.

Seattle Parks Policies – Please follow all Seattle Parks policy posted in the park. There is no alcohol consumption allowed in Seattle Parks.

After Party – Please join us at the Woodland Park GP After Party at Brouwer’s Cafe in Fremont. Details here!

Special Guest – Brook Watts, the promoter of CrossVegas, will be racing and hanging out this weekend. He will be causing trouble for Kevin Raymond and Comsic Miller in the Cat 3 Master Men 55+. Give him a few cheers, he is racing in the Great Divide Cycling Team kit. Brook is a member of the USA Cycling Cyclocross Committee and the US representative to the International Association of Cyclocross Organizers. He is a good friend to StarCrossed and MFG Cyclocross.

Prizes – Three deep to all categories. Beer winners listed below:
