Over the last few weeks, we’ve discussed a number of options on what StarCrossed 2012 will be. The back stories are long and plentiful, but the bottom line is we are still very excited about the event. Above all else, thank you for your patience, and for your flexibility.
That all said, here’s what we know:
*The finalized date will be Saturday, October 6th, 2012 at Marymoor Park: Our sincere apologies to those who have made plans specifically around the September date. We know there is at least one Canadian friend who was planning his vacation around StarCrossed. Please count on the Sat 10/6 (edited) date with 100% confidence as we’ve confirmed with the county.
*StarCrossed 2012 will be included in the MFG Cyclocross series: This means that unlike any other iteration of StarCrossed, all MFG categories will be able to race at Marymoor. All races will be standard race times of 30, 45, and 60 minutes, and there will NOT be an enduro relay.
*StarCrossed will continue as a twilight race: The race-day schedule will be released this month, but the day will be longer, as we allocate times for all racers, as well as the Eliminator Event.
*There will be an eliminator event: This will cap off the evening, and we are scheming on what could possibly top 677,932 views of this.
*This event will operate as a standard MFG event where no license is required to race. This will NOT be a UCI event, and while those valuable UCI points will not be available, we will have a significant cash payout for Elite Men and Women.
*As mentioned above, there will not be an enduro relay event this year. Again, thanks for your patience while we tested ideas, and put ideas out there, only to revise the plan.
