MFG #1…in the books
Thanks to nearly 500 of you who came out for MFG #1. We hope everyone had a great time, in the great weather, at a great venue so close to the city. Rich put on a fantastic course, and Ken held it DOWN…..at registration.
Our fine friends at uBRDO were absolutely amazing in their support. Scotty, Mercedes, James, Cole and crew were there from start to finish and showed some SERIOUS love for MFG.
A whole lot of folks are asking about results. Please grant us a days worth of patience while we sort out the results. By tomorrow afternoon, we should have a much cleaner results list here on MFG. If you have any results questions or comments, please comment here on this blog post, and your feedback will be heard.
We promise that race #2 results will be much faster and more accurate next Sunday at Rad Racing. In the meantime, please check out the photos popping up already:

Party! Party! Party!

Everyone is asking the big question, and uBRDO is the answer. Our fine friends at uBRDO Mountain Supply are hosting the Kick Off Cross after party at their shop in Kirkland. Scotty says head to the shop after 4pm to sample some Black Raven Brewing Co. liquid action!
And while you are there, please support the shop and purchase something. Anything. These folks are really helping out at the race, and nothing says I LOVE YOU, MAN, more than consumer support.

Brouwer’s Cafe: Thank you.
Pfeeeew! MFG is up and running! A huge thank you to Brouwer’s Cafe (Nat, Matt, Erica, Ian, and all others) for hosting MFG Kick Off Party on Wednesday night. The upstairs was packed and good times were had by all. We handed out Series number plates and here are the most popular number requests: 666, 333, 69, 187, .08, 206. Photos from the event are up on MFG Flickr site (Thank you M.C).

Course Comments
Each Wednesday before a MFG race, I will post comments about the coming weekend’s race. It’s also a good opportunity to inform you all about special venue requirements. While I’ll try to avoid it, there may be some additional proselytizing, if I’m sufficiently provoked. So, given that it’s past my bedtime on Thursday night, without further ado, Course comments for the uBRDO kick off cross at Big Finn Hill Park:
Are you ready for Finn Hill Sunday? Finn Hill is ready for you! The course will be a bit different than the map shown on the web site. We had to cut out the out and back section between the two baseball fields in the NE corner of the park, and replace it with some doubling back in the east field. The pits will also be roughly in the same place as shown, but oriented east/west instead of north/south. This will allow for a smoother and flatter pit area.
I think this will be a surprisingly fun and tough course. We have a long paved start stretch that transitions into a steep grass hill to sort things out. We have a double pit to make sure you’re back in the action as quickly as possible if you have a problem. There’s lots of fast, bumpy grass sections, and tricky off camber work too. There are also two short single track and effective single track sections, for which I apologize, but there was no way to make a good course at this venue without using them. Between the park guys and me, we’ve beaten back some blackberry and other weeds to make room. While walking my dog Loki, I’ve seen quite a few of you out there checking out the grounds, but when the course is all dressed up it will be another thing…good ‘cross.
A few notes:
There isn’t a whole lot of parking and many of you may end up in neighborhoods to the east of the park…please be respectful back there. Please do not ride on the baseball fields in the park. And while the team area will be on the soccer pitch, please tread lightly. Don’t go locking up your brakes and skidding on the pitch. The King County Park guys have been excellent to work with on this race, and leaving the park in as good a condition as possible will keep that relationship good and go a long way to getting us invited back.
See you Sunday,
Richard McClung – MFG course guy

Reverse Prime
We will pick some race at random, some lap within that race at random and the race for last is on. The last place finisher on that lap will win our reverse prime – the princess helmet cover and pillow. Wear the helmet cover in the next race and race for free. The Reverse Prime Winner will also select the category racing for the crown at that race. All about the fun.
